Sorry it has taken me forever to finally post something but we are having such a great time I really haven't had time! We will start with the
beginning of the trip. Here we are packed in my little vibe (I love you, you little
non-gas
guzzling thing you!) with Martha, the GPS we borrowed from my sister-in-law Lisa, and with her I am a new person.
Bring on the world! (or as far as Martha will take me!). We decided to only go half way
because of the kids getting restless and me really never driving that far before by myself (with out Ben). So we stopped in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Ummm, not good. Not that great of an area but we can discuss that at another time. We checked in to our hotel and a relaxed for a few and then decided we wanted to go to a
Walmart. I am a Target person myself but you don't argue with the elder. Well you do but you don't win. Anyway, we get in the car and punch in W
almart on Martha. Took her directions and here we are, at night, on interstates, not knowing where in the world we are going. Finally we get off the interstate and we are only a mile from our "destination", only our "destination" was an empty field. Uh-Oh! So we turned around and punched in another W
almart but this time turned out to be a
Dillards and a very upscale mall. We give up! We were hungry and I felt like taking a break from being lost so we went to the
IHOP across the street. It had to be a nice
IHOP right? With it being right across this very nice mall? NO.
Umm, WOW. It was nasty! But we were hungry and tired and lost so we were not about to venture out any further. We get seated and Nicholas was in rare form. He was trying to climb over the seat to another couples table he has climbing on the table. Typical Nick! We asked for a highchair and we in was brought to us we noticed there were no straps. Pointless! So we ate and had some conversation with the manager and another employee trying to figure out where the nearest
Walmart actually was. After 2 seconds of directions being explained we were lost.
Never mind!
Ok, we leave there and go back to the hotel where the kids are going crazy! Mainly Ashton. Jumping from one bed to the next
continuously! And pushing Nicholas around in the computer chair in that tiny room! I was crazy! Now bedtime! It's Nicks turn to be a butt. It took 1 1/2 hrs to get him asleep, thanks to Ashton for getting in bed with us and helping out. The next morning we headed out around 8:00 towards Texas. Not much to see on the way but was enjoyable anyway. We finally arrive at the Texas rest area and walked around for a half and hour and let the kids move around a bit. After that we head towards Dallas to meet Kelly for lunch. When we
approached Dallas we were
astounded by the
interstates. As mom put it it looked like a huge spider! And the building were HUGE! We got to Olive Garden and met up with Kelly and Ashton B. It was Great! We had a wonderful lunch, talked and giggled. It was the best!

After we left there we were Austin bound! after 3 hours driving through Waco and then
Hillsboro we were there, and got lost! After paying 2 toll roads and a call to Ben, we made it! It was the best feeling to finally see him! Hugs and kisses all around!! It was great! We unloaded and then went out to see a little bit around and then out to eat. I punched in Red Robbin on Martha and that is when the love hate relationship began. Ben kept telling her to shut up but she did get us where we wanted to go. Got seated and waited for the waitress FOREVER! Never showed up. So we left and headed to
Whataburger.
Then we headed back to the hotel.
