Very Good Day and Bad Day.
Ok, first with the good news! WE SOLD OUR HOUSE!!!! After only a little over a month and Walla! SOLD! I am so very blessed to have things fall the way they are and I could not be more happy! One less thing for me to worry about!!! No more having the house picture perfect, no more having to keep things off my counter that I use constantly, no more making sure that everything is perfectly in its place! Now I can continue packing and spend more time with my kids!!!! As always, this is not final until closing day (which is the 29Th of May, the same day as the last day of school, PERFECT!). So yesterday I celebrated with going out to lunch with one of my best friends. Wonderful time! She had good news about her adding a business partner to her existing business that has kept her on her toes for well over 4 years! Now she to has had a lot of stress lifted from her shoulders. So, we are having lunch at House Blend and decide afterwards we would do a little window shopping. Meaning looking in the window, seeing something we want and going in to buy it! First stop was my Realtors wife store called E & K Designs. I bought the cutest cup with my initial on it. Everything in the store was so cute!! I could have bought it all! But I stopped at the coffee cup. After we left there we went to a few more little shops and walked by this one junk store that used to have some nice things, but it was mainly junk. We are walking through and found some old pieces of furniture that would be beautiful if refinished. But the over whelming smell of old and cigarette smoke made us decide to leave. While exiting the store I notice something very familiar. MY OLD COUCH!!!! The one I had in my upstairs for a few years and paid this guy "Jamie" to take to the help center! I was LIVID!!!! Over a month ago I had hired this guy who "Hauls Anything!" That what his card said anyway, and paid him $100 to take this couch to the help center and some other things (such as a riding mower, water bed frame, etc...) either to the help center or to the dump if could not be used.I even tipped him $25 to do so!!! He said what whatever can still be used, he either takes it to Goodwill or The Help Center. I told him with the couch, that it was to go to the Help Center. I stressed to him that if he couldn't do it, I would find some way of doing it myself. He said "No, no! It's a good couch and someone could use it from there, so that will be my first stop." Wow, thanks! I have and empty upstairs and someone is getting a piece of furniture that couldn't afford it otherwise.....WRONG!!!!!! After speaking to who was in charge that day, "Jamie", aka, owner of the store was using it to benefit himself by selling it!!!! So apparently I paid him to pick up an old couch and sell it for himself!! I don't know about you, but to me that is stealing!!!! I told him I will be back tomorrow to discuss this with "Jamie" and find out why he lied to me! I was so upset! I called my realtor and told him what happen because he was the one that gave me this guys number. I started crying!!! How can someone take advantage of someone in such a away!!! My realtor told me to call the Better Business Bureau and he would call and tell him his serves would not be needed again! After I hung up with him I went to the help center and told them what had happened. Sadly this was no surprise to them because they are faced with a lot of dishonest people but they would be sure that they will stay on top of this man if he was to promise anyone he would deliver to them. Me? I am stuck in a situation of doing all I can to see that this won't happen again and run the risk of making him mad and jeopardising mine and the kids safety because he knows where I live, after all, he came here to pick up the items! Or keeping my mouth shut until a few days before I move. One person told me that most people would be glad that they wouldn't have to deal with the couch being in their way anymore, but not me, it's not about me, it about someone having a couch because either they couldn't afford one or if they recently had a fire and had nothing!! There are so many people out there that take advantage of you, and even though I should be used to it by now, I am not! It still hurts! It's called morals people!!! And was is really sad is that some people don't have any!
