A Very Long Day.

Ok, it's getting to me. Maybe I have been pushing myself a little to much, but THINGS have got to get done! As you can see from my earlier post, yesterday was a busy day, and today was not any less hectic. Lets start by me going to Nashville with my mom this morning to go shopping for clothes. I have nothing! I have lost 25 lbs since last year and was in desperate need of some new clothes. And before you think "Yea, 25 lbs! That's great!" just know it wasn't from a diet but yet a little bit of added "stress" to my life called Crohns. It's a wonderful disease and a great weight loss program! UGGGG! anyway, back to my story, so I am at Target trying on clothes and my very curious son kept opening the door on me. Of course we were in the front dressing room facing the rest of the store, but thankfully no one got a peek. Then when we went to the cashier to check out Nicholas got loose and ran off! Luckily not far but under an unused cash register in the lane next to us. After we left there we went to Sears and then Macey's. Pretty uneventful there other than Nicholas trying to escape from his stroller the whole time. I won't even describe how he was doing it. After we left there my precious son fell asleep. Well there goes my 3:30 nap time with him! We get back to Dickson I had to get my oil changed, pick up a presciption, take mom to K-Mart (we don't have many choices in Dickson) where I had to carry my son the entire time we were there and then to get my tires balanced and rotated. Which was funny because Nicholas was in the car the whole time they were doing it. Never budged! After we left there I took Mom home and then picked Ashton up from school. Finally, we were on our way home! Now we start packing. I empty my shoppping abg and notice one of the shirts I thought I purchased was missing, knowing now that Nicholas probably threw it out of the buggy. I know this because he had done it twice while we were there, just didn't notice the third time :(. By the way, did I tell you that shirt was the reason why I went there? Anyway, all was good for a while, kids were quite while I washed all the clothes to be packed for an 11 day trip! Still running like mad woman trying to pack everything we need, Ben calls to say he was invited by some of the other employees from his new job to go out to eat. This put a BIG smile on my face because my big boy is making friends! Then 6:00 rolls around and Nicholas has a visit from hos special friend, Miss. Wendy. We sat in the floor like always and Nicholas decides that he will immediately become possessed by little demons. He went nuts, to the point I had to hold him down! She taught me something called the basket hold but he wasn't having it! I had never seen him so mad! I am hoping this is a phase because of his daddy being away. Then he proceeds to take his diaper off. THAT was embarrassing! and the worst diaper change EVER! I literally had to sit on him to change his diaper. GRRRRRR! Finally he did settle down towards the end. That's when Ashton wanted to tell me about a story she has been reading. Bless her heart she needed for me to sit down and and give her my undivided attention, but instead she had a mommy responding with "Uh huh", "Yeah?" and "Really". I remember nothing of the story that was just told to me. I felt terrible. But finally around 9:30 all the clothes were washed and mine and Ashton suitcases were ready to be packed! It wouldn't fit. I had to take everything out of the car I had just packed and combined mine and hers together. That is one heavy suitcase! But it fits! Now I have to make a phone to my Aunt Noni. Quit please! Need to hear her to get make sure I know where I am going!". Yeah right. Ashton decides she want to bug Nicholas and aggravate him. So after I told her 5 times to stop I finally sent her to her room. But the funny thing was she was back in here before I was off the phone. That's how far gone I am because I didn't even notice. When I finally got off the phone she was in rare form. lifting, spinning and wrestling with him. This ended with a head collision that left marks on both children. Then Ashton ask if she can make herself some hot chocolate. Sure, why not! Only after she makes it she leaves it on the table where Nicholas can get to it and sure enough, he did. Chocolate milk all on the wall and carpet. Apparently she took one sip and that was it because it was VERY full! Did I mention there was chocolate chips in the drink that had not fully melted and is now stuck in the carpet! Here I go to get my little yellow bucket and a scrub brush and scrub my little heart out. That's when Nicholas decides he want to hug on mommy. Awwww! The only thing was, HE HAD A POOPIE!!!! It was the worst of all worst! So, here I am scrubbing and smelling shu-shu! At this point I feel like crying. But I didn't! I stayed strong, cleaned my floor, made Ashton clean the wall and thought to myself "by tomorrow these little buggers will be strapped in their seats, unable to touch me or one another. WooHoo! Don't get me wrong, I love my kids. They are my everything! but I am in desperate need of some ME time. And I hope when I get to my husband, that will finally happen. As a matter of fact, I know it will. Because I am going to give him the biggest kisses and hugs then hand him the kids and the nana and I am going for a very long walk. Possibly to the nearest bar!

  1. That is great about losing 25 pounds. Not so hot to deal with Crohn's though. I know a lot of people who have been affected by that disease. Thanks for commenting on my blog. I can tell you are a very sweet lady. I will be back.
